Sharif Sadiq was born in Pakistan. He grow up in Rawalpindi and showed artistic talent from early childhood. At the age of thirteen he became an apprentice at the Arthur Art Studio. There he studied after school for five years. In 1980, he joined the respected Artist, Ustad Abdul Rasheed Mughal as an apprentice. Here he trained very well and started a career as a Theatrical Painter. Later he moved his interest to fine art and achieved many awards from various organizations. In December of 1997, Sharif Sadiq moved to the United States with his family and settled in New York City. In January of 1998, he enrolled in the Art Student League of New York. Here he studied for four years and was awarded the Best Artist in the Annual Exhibition of 2002. Sharif Sadiq worked in a clear and precise style.

Later his outlook became increasingly subjective as he tried to express the power, mystery and beauty of nature rather then to give an accurate depiction. The atmospheric and light filled paintings of Sadiq's later years seem so evanescent and airy. He has distinguished his work with lightness, grace, and delicate coloring. Initially he made his name as a portraitist and realistic with touch of impressionist paintings. In each portrait, he achieves a richness of form, a visual melody in which every note of color and every nuance of line or tone happens at just the right time and in just the right place. He now paints personal portraits for clients all around NYC.
